MDC DOT uses Spam Assassin™ to analyze your email broadcasts for suspicious content. MDC DOT leverages the Spam Assassin scoring system to help determine if the broadcast will be flagged as spam.
How does the scoring work?
SpamAssassin scoring runs on a 0-10 scale. If your message’s score is less than 5 then it will be allowed to be sent through the application to your contacts. If your score is above 5 then we will not allow you to send the email blast and will require you to fix the email and rerun the spam check until your score is under 5.
Just because your email has a low score does mean it can’t still be flagged as spam. There are many factors that can cause your email to hit the spam folder. ISPs take other factors into account such a email sending reputation, how your email is coded, and other more.
How To Lower Your Score
If the score of any of your broadcasts messages is above 5, you’ll want to reduce the score below that number in order to send it.
